Hello!
I was just wondering where the parking brake light is located in the 57 Bonneville. Somebody snipped the wire on our parking brake assembly, and we do not have a light. Photos would be a great help (grin).
Thanks,

I'm corn-fused. If there was a wire on the parking brake assembly, why isn't there a light? Are you referring to an indicator light on the dash?
I'll do some checking if I understand better. _________________ PontiacRegistry.com... building the single largest source of Pontiac information, services, and entertainment in the world! |

Hey Larry! Yes there was a wire that was snipped off of the brake assembly before we bought the car, and we don't know where the light goes. Possibly on the dash? There is no light, so we are confused also... _________________ |

Well, according to the Owner's Manual, they did offer the emergence brake light accessory, but I still cannot fond a picture of one on the dash. See below. _________________ PontiacRegistry.com... building the single largest source of Pontiac information, services, and entertainment in the world! |

Thanks, Larry! I will exhaust all of my references looking for a photo. I believe that I found holes for an under-dash lamp bracket, but the addition of an after-market AC unit renders that area unusable. That is probably why the wire was cut off of the parking brake. _________________ |

Look what I found!! See below, far right.
I would bet that the only NOS one of those would possibly be with Kurt Kelsey, but it won't hurt to look elsewhere too. _________________ PontiacRegistry.com... building the single largest source of Pontiac information, services, and entertainment in the world! |

Larry, you are amazing! Was that in the owners manual, or in a dealer brochure? OK, for your bonus question, what is that switch just to the left of the light? We have it (a toggle switch) but it is not connected to anything. Ha! And you thought that you were done with me! _________________ |
