Hi I am new member first time poster to this forum. I just acquired a 1930 Std Coupe and it came with an NOS "in-the-wrapper" running board that indicates it fits 29-30 coupe. It has the Pontiac logo/emblem cast into the rubber. I had never seen one before. If there is interest I will post pictures.
I contacted Northfield to see about making one to match my NOS one. They expressed an interest in making these. Now I am trying to understand what all this thing may fit besides 29-30 coupes and who else may be interested. I have some questions:
1. I know that 28 is 1 3/4" longer than 29-30 by measuring it. What are dimensions of 26-27? 31-32?
2. Are roadster diminsions same as coupes? What about Sedans?
It will only take a few ( six or so) people to justify the manufacture of this thing but it will be a one-time deal. Price will be $600 pair. If you have an interest please email me -- if I dont get enough I may still do the whole thing because its so cool.

I checked my Hollander Interchange Manuals, and unfortunately do not have those that go back far enough on this topic.
So, I checked my 1940 Parts Manual and found the info shown below.
The good news is that it appears they do not specify different running board mats that are model specific. That makes me think all the models use the same mat. Also, they are the same side-to-side.
Bad news is each year is different.
I am vague on the "AA" shown with the '28 and '29 models. I know it refers to "All American" because there was the intermingling of Oakland and Pontiac back then. Note for '29 there is the AA6 and a P6 shown. Was there just an "AA6" in '28?
Anywho... this is a start. _________________ PontiacRegistry.com... building the single largest source of Pontiac information, services, and entertainment in the world! |

Below are some more places reproducing running board mats... what's up with all of them in Canada? Nothing to do during the long winters? A friend had 1940 mats made by some place (I think) in Atlanta; I can check into that.
Attached is a photo of a 1931 Pontiac mat from the second listed.

BTW, the photo of the 1930 mat you posted did not show up. _________________ PontiacRegistry.com... building the single largest source of Pontiac information, services, and entertainment in the world! |

Larry I tried to send you an email but it bounced back. I have information about the Canadian running board vendors I would like to share off line. Can you please contact me?
