I just brought a 1960 Catalina two door hardtop up to Canada to restore. I am trying to figure out what body parts are interchangeable between the Catalina, Star Chief and Bonnevilles. I looked through the Pontiac Master Parts Manual and as far as I can tell the fenders, hood, bumpers, doors etc are all the same part number.
I want to find a parts car so I am checking with someone that would probably be able to clear this up for me
Thanks _________________ |

You will find some trim pieces different between these different models, but major body parts/panels probably interchangeable. Of course, Bonneville rear fenders will be longer too.
Of course the Star Chief didn't have a hardtop, so those sort of parts won't work. BTW, in 1960, the hardtop was called a "Sports Coupe." Be aware of the "Vista" hardtops too. Those hardtops were only four-doors and, of course, had the flat roof.
It is a U.S produced '60, not a Canadian model, right?
For any specific parts, drop a note and we will check the Hollander Interchange Manual for you. _________________ PontiacRegistry.com... building the single largest source of Pontiac information, services, and entertainment in the world! |

I need a front fender, passenger door, front bumper so if a find a Star Chief, Catalina or Bonneville it sounds like the parts are interchangeable (except for the door where I would have to find a sport coupe). _________________ |

According to the Hollander Interchange Manual, the 1960 parts you list (bumper, front fender, and passenger door) are all interchangeable between the models. At least, they do not specify any differences between the different models. Of course, the door does say for 2-door hardtop and convertible which you know already.
On the bumper it does state that the "early and late" are interchangeable with brackets. It would appear that there was a change somewhere along the line, but if you swapped between the two it would be OK if you used the respective brackets. _________________ PontiacRegistry.com... building the single largest source of Pontiac information, services, and entertainment in the world! |

They come in different editions covering different years. The 32nd Edition has your 1960 and some years up and down from there. _________________ PontiacRegistry.com... building the single largest source of Pontiac information, services, and entertainment in the world! |
