My 1st post to this form begins "Hello Pontiac Fans! Yes, I'm Pontiac Man ever since I was knee high to a belt molding. I've owned many I wish I'd kept but that's the old same story. This time around, I'm working on turning my LJ into an SJ.( '79 at the top of this page,) but removed Landau top and sealed up trim moulding gap to make a hardtop. I bought it a cuple decades ago from my brother when it was gold on black with rotten gold interior and no less than ugly decaled sides. All it needed was dingle balls and lowered to a pack of Marlboros! It now is as pictured above except window trim mlds.
SJ came limited with a 455 an Turbo 4 trans. A rare bird and even rarer with manual trans.
I talk too much, (flaw in my character,) I will picture what I have in mind. GM sunroof I cut out of '82 Cutlass Supreme Broughm. I cut the roof panel out 1.5" in. to drop into my SJ. Last price from GM for sunroof assemblys was 1750 w/o motor.
I've decided to go back to the original matching 305 Pontiac block and simply pump it up, rather than punch a 455 in it unless I wanted go all the way and make it a race winner I still need the SJ original gauges with tach. Picture in your minds Satin Black (waxable) with all chrome including side mouldings Any comments about any of my bs would be intrestin. _________________ |

While many lamented the down-sized GPs, to me they were the perfect size car and probably the last good looking ones. Sharp lines, wide back pillar... and for Pontiac, the perfect amount of gingerbread.
As far as your modifying... go for it! Make it everything you want in YOUR car. Please use good taste, which I'm sure you will, and make it how you will enjoy it the most.
You mention photo at top of page... in the band of cars driving across the page? Be welcome to drop in as many photos as you wish in your forum posts. And certainly keep us all posted of your progress. Any questions along the away, just ask. _________________ PontiacRegistry.com... building the single largest source of Pontiac information, services, and entertainment in the world! |

Yes Larry. Mine is the '79 Grand Prix in the band of cars scrolling at the top of the opening page. I do not know how to shrink my pics in my file to fit here. I've never had to do that before. They seem to be oversize from my pictures library. Bear _________________ |

Have you tried posting a photo? Go ahead and try and see if it goes. I don't recall if we had an "automatic" resizing function built in (it's been so long). _________________ PontiacRegistry.com... building the single largest source of Pontiac information, services, and entertainment in the world! |

I'm exceeding the number of pixels, maybe because I used a real camera, not a camera phone? I'll figure it out Larry. Its winter right now in my Sierras. My LJ's not goin anywhere, fast for a minute. _________________ |
