I got the seat materials from SMS, had a local upholstery shop do the sewing, and they look great. I waited on the door panels for one year and one month, and last week they finally arrived--in the wrong color. I don't want to wait another year for the mistake to be rectified.
Is there anybody else out there besides SMS who can make door panels for my car? Everything is finished except for the door panels, and spring is coming.
Thanks,
Steve in Indiana _________________ |

That's disappointing. Has SMS said that they will redo your panels? If so, they won't expedite it?
I have my doubts that harry Samuels is still doing much work if at all, but this is the last phone number we have for him: 248-258-6269 He used to be the No. 1 source for most all Pontiac interiors. However, he was/is getting up in years and wanted out of the business the last time I talked with him.
Legendary Interiors seems to be Mopar and other stuff, but perhaps they could guide you somewhere.
Please let us know how this works out. _________________ PontiacRegistry.com... building the single largest source of Pontiac information, services, and entertainment in the world! |

I emailed SMS this morning to inform them of the problem. I havent heard anything from them yet.
I talked with Harry Samuels a year or two ago. He told me, also, that he's getting out of the business and didn't have anything made up that would be correct for my car.
Thanks for the reply. I'll let you know how this comes out. Needless to say, I am very frustrated and disappointed with SMS.

I know you probably don't want to hear this idea, but have you thought about dye? And I don't mean killing someone to make them die! Though I bet you would like to.
I don't mean spray cans from the auto parts store, but a professional job. I have never had it done, but have seen shows and read about high-dollar restorations that have stuff dyed.
I would demand that they replace them with the correct color, and try to get them to pay for the dying too.
Here is the phone number to SMS: 503-263-3535. The owner's name is Doug Pollock. _________________ PontiacRegistry.com... building the single largest source of Pontiac information, services, and entertainment in the world! |
