Hi there!
I came across this 1974 Formula in southern Sweden lately. no records on which engine size there might be in this one...so far.
Acc. to the local reg. it was originally delivered to Sweden and in traffic from mid 1975 and taken out again late 1987. During its days it seems it got a sunroof of cheap type, but otherwise seems unmolested - as far as I can see(?). With a knowledge lose to zero on these magnificent cars, I am curious to know more about it. I can't see which engine it has, but will try to get close to it again tomorrow to crawl a bit underneath it to check the frame. Same with the engine, see if I can get any closer to that(hood seemed stock today). It has automatic transmission - guess it was the most common even in the Formula versions(??). Has a blue metallic paint job, but don't know if it is original, as the wheel arches are white. It has white upholstery, seems in decent condition, taking into consideration that the car has been standing still for 27(!) years. Does anyone in here know anything about the wheels? They are steel wheels with a white paint job and a center hub with what seems to be an "A" on it - does that ring a bell to anyone? I am not sure if they are original - as when searching for the same year, make and model, I get a load of different looks on these cars, but not any equal hits.
One pretty scary detail is that acc. to the reg. details found, the car as had 11 owners. Usually the dealership counts as the first owner, but after that....ten owners in twelve years. Still, taking into consideration that it has been resting for decades in this mean climate over here, there is rust in the lower panels, but upwards the panels are in pretty god condition.
Tomorrows expedition will hopefully show more - if it is worth saving or not.
I am interested in any details about this car, so I can get a good picture of it's a good idea or not to throw my love and loads of bucks into it. Even details on how I find out about the engine size on this...!
Best regards,
Anders Klingenberg

Someone has painted a set of Pontiac Rally II wheels white and added a set of aftermarket Appliance Wheel center caps. |

Take a look at the cars block code on the passenger side front of the engine. Also see what code heads are on the car. Check the two center exhaust ports. Good luck. |

Hi.
Thanks for the replies.
The car was well locked up, or at least I couldn't get the hood open, but I managed to sneak my camera a bit around underneath and could see that the car is in pretty good shape, considering the many years out in the wilderness. I also ran through the official registry, and it says that it's the 168 kw engine sitting in it. Acc. to my sneaking camera, the engine block is in a fine blue metallic paint, so I just have to locate the owner of the messy lot where the car rests amongst other old cars, trucks and tractors.
Best regards,
