Can anyone tell me why the valve covers on 64,65,66 GTO’s have that Hump
on one end? I’ve been asked 100 times!

I have checked all my reference books and other than mentioning that they changed for '67, there is no mention anywhere of why they were that way.
Check this thread in the GTO Forum for some time ago where the same question was asked: https://www.gtoforum.com/threads/peaked-valve-covers.136165/#post-892957
They don't seem to have any answer either. This may all be a style thing or one of those "seemed like a good idea at the time" things.
BTW, it looks like "Pent roof valve covers. Right side forward, left side at the back. Left side grommet natural rubber. Intake manifold bolts and valve cover bolts painted engine color. Toss up on breather, some blue and some black." _________________ PontiacRegistry.com... building the single largest source of Pontiac information, services, and entertainment in the world! |
