I am a new subscriber, and have been looking around this site for a while and have not found a 'water cooler' / 'off topic' / 'get acquainted' type of forum other than this one. Is this "General Pontiac Talk" OK for these types of posts?
I am pleased with the amount and quality of the information on this site, and plan to do a lot of reading. I have been driving Pontiacs since my first, a '50 I8 that I never got on the road since I was too young to drive, and still have a special need to have at least one Pontiac in the garage. |

Thanks for the welcomes. I placed a picture of my TA in the photo gallery, which is the only picture I have showing the (new) paint/decals. It is for the most part original looking. I am treating it as a driver for sunny days, and going through it as I can, fixing defects. Seat fabric replacement is next, and the AC needs a shot of coolant. Right now it is snoozing in the corner of my garage. |

Very nice T/A. Please post updates as you do the projects on you car. It's always fun to watch a car get restored. |

Hi Philo,
Welcome aboard! I think you will enjoy Larry's internet Pontiac club. Lots of great information and features. The members seem to be very supportive and there are hundreds of years of Pontiac experience right at your fingertips.
By the way, thank you for the information you gave me on the 400 Firebird for my friend. I appreciate it.

.. welcome philo.... not sure if Im allowed to say that as your there and im here etc.. but its starting to reach a wider voice then ever..
New York is a great city.. with alot of attributes that also make sydney Australia a great place.. ..
.. talking of 'off the cuff" type comments connected to your homeland etc.... I had a customer come in yesterday.. he'd been restoring his car for a few years now & proudly just got it licensed & engineer approved.
The 1951 Pontiac Sedan now supports a '92 era '350 L98 V8 tricked up auto out of a NEW YORK CITY POLICE CAR.. .. it was one of 15 full service cruisers shipped to Sydney in 2000 for a series of US movies.. ( a picture of one I actually sent Larry a few year back as it was sitting abandoned & wrecked in an outback junkyard) and the cars remained but under our laws of import were not allowed to be licensed etc.. many were just wrecked /totaled in the filming.. and his one was one.. later purchased for bugger all..
The owner is about 68 year old.. still hot roding..and still into Pontiacs. _________________ |

My dad was into Pontiacs too. The first one he bought was a 47. Then a '50 a '53 then a '57. The '57 was a black Super Chief with 3x2 carbs. He talked about that car and how fast it was often. He has passed on now, but when he got older and moved into Buicks, I was already buying Pontiacs, and I have been doing my best to keep Pontiac in business. |
