1962 Grand Prix

I was looking up the body tag Info and wondering what they were for a 62 GP trim number is: 285 what color would it be

ACC letters are: FR QX what would they be?

across from Body: BC= southgate then the number 634 are there

I thought i understood these Guess not..I googled them for 62 pontiacs i found conflicting info any clarification

Style was 62-2947

Trying to understand these codes that were used is like trying to understand plumbing fittings... everything that is the same is called different and everything that is different is called the same.

Unless you had a salesman's check sheet (or factory data), the accessory codes will probably always be a mystery. I would recommend that you pay for Pontiac Historical Services research. They will have everything the car was born with listed in its documents. They may or may not actually show these code numbers though.

Check our paint code listing in the tech forum to see if you find 285.
