I'm close to having my car finished. Would like to know if the "Pontiac Eight" trim insignia on each side has the "o", "a" and "g" painted in the blank space. Currently it is chrome but I think it is either supposed to be the body color or red. Can anyone help? |

I have checked a number of photos, and although very small, the parts you are speaking of appear to be black.
See the photo below that I found also. They are certainly black, but we have no way of knowing if it is stock or has been changed. However, judging from the other pictures of the car, it appears to be a very high-dollar, high-quality restoration. It appears to be black between the "P" and "o" and under the "h" as well. Under the dots on the "i" too.
It would have been a nightmare to have had different (body color) emblems on the assembly line. Basic black would be the logical way to go. Can you imagine the mixed up colors if they were supposed to match the bodies? They were always running out of parts on the line, and grabbed whatever they had. I'm sure they wouldn't have chosen to match the colors. _________________ PontiacRegistry.com... building the single largest source of Pontiac information, services, and entertainment in the world! |
