The stock tire was probably the 225-70-15. You can certainly put 75s on your car but it will be a bit taller tire.
Because most T/A drivers want width for performance and looks, many go to 235 and up for the width, and then to keep the height from going up, drop to 60 sizes. My niece just put a set of P235/60-R15s on her '76 T/A and they look like the normal tire, but have a bit more width while the 60 brings the height down to what the stock would have been (or close).
The increased height of the 75 may not be noticeable to the eye, but your speedometer may read a little slower; not much, but it might make the difference of a ticket or not if you're edging above the speed limit already. _________________ PontiacRegistry.com... building the single largest source of Pontiac information, services, and entertainment in the world! |
