|
|
I have a cigarette lighter that frequently blows a fuse when I plug in my cell phone charger, GPS or the actual lighter itself. Sometimes when it blows, if it is dark enough I can also see a spark where the inserted plug is making contact.
I've tried to remove the outlet, by screwing the chrome ring on the dash side CCW but it doesn't seem to be loosening. While turning it, I've felt to see if the outlet is spinning behind the dash but it doesn't feel like it. In addition, I've felt the back side to see if there is a clip holding it on but I don't feel one.
I thought I remembered them screwing off, but before I damage the chrome ring or scratch the dash, I'd like to ask if anyone knows for sure and if they will share the secret? |

Cigarette lighters that I had removed/installed are inserted into the dash from the front and then from the back, the "barrel" that you can feel with your hand screws/unscrews.

Hi Larry,
I just received a notice today that there was an additional remark added to this thread. I couldn't make heads or tails of the remark but it looks like a Cialis spam post, in addition, I again saw your reply to my question. Your remark was exactly on the mark, and that day, I was able to remove and replace it without any further problems. I also noticed that I unfortunately didn't thank you for you answer and time. So, with this post, I thank you for your help, and all works like new now. Thanks again. |
