Hi everyone.

What is the difference between the 1966 Parisienne and the 1966 Laurentian?
" I know they're spelt differently - just want to beat you to the punch line". I own the Parisienne and have an opportunity to buy the Laurentian for $2000.00.

Thanks,
PontiacPete

I'm at a bit of a disadvantage with my Canadian Pontiacs book at home. Presently we're overnighting in Paducah, Kentucky on our way to Pontiac, Illinois for the Pontiac Museum grand opening.

In a nut shell, the Canadian Pontiacs, as sort of parallel Chevrolets, came in different trim levels. The Parisienne was of the upper level similiar in trim like an Impala, and the Laurentian was more in the lower Bel Air sort of trim level. In 1966 they introduced the Grand Parieienne that was even fancier on level with the Caprice.

I will have to check further to see if there were differences in the body style offerings between these models.

Just looking at the Laurntian, I felt that it was a lower status vehicle. Hope to hear about your trip to the grand opening of the Pontiac museum. Wish I had time this summer to go. Enjoy.

I was 21 years old when these cars were made and I also worked part time in a garage at the time. The Laurentian was the mid-level Pontiac from 1960 until 1970. Motor, transmission and all mechanical parts are interchangeable as they all came standard with a 283V8 and the good old dependable 2 speed power glide automatic transmission. The wheels, brakes, rads, starters, alternators, etc all are the same. Hope this helps.
