Haven't you read this question before? I'm the 2nd owner of a '73 special ordered Formula; all numbers-matching car. I'm a traditionalist for restoration at least from what people will be able to see. The body is finished; factory Admiralty Blue. I've replaced most everything rear forward; brakes, gas tank, fuel/vent lines minus the interior for now. It's just about time for the engine. For those of you who are near metro Atlanta, GA or maybe 50-70 miles out; who do I go to that knows old Pontiac engines? I have some goodies already for the engine which I want it build with; RAIII cam, etc so if you prefer to read this as a stock rebuild then fine but....I need someone who can port/polish cylnder heads, deck the block, CC cylinder heads chambers, balance the engine (both static and centrifugal; I think) and yes they have to have a dyno in shop. I live northeast of Atlanta in Lawrenceville, GA and I am once again getting an itch to drive this thing. I can go to only so many of the TA Nationals in Dayton OH and dream at the stock class A, 2nd gen. cars. Thanks folks, Gregg |

Sounds like you're making progress!
It is getting harder and harder to find good machine shops anymore today- anywhere. cars just aren't being rebuilt like they used to be in the days gone by.
I have a number of relatives in the Lawrenceville area but none who would have any ideas concerning this. I do, however, have a suggestion.
Why not go with the best? With a drive of just under 300 miles (via I-75) you can be right at Butler Performance... the best Pontiac engine builders around! We're certain they can do "mild" work as well as the wilder things they build. Just click on their ad to the left and connect to them. We're sure they will be happy to help you.
They are in Lawrenceburg and you are in Lawrenceville... it was meant to be! _________________ PontiacRegistry.com... building the single largest source of Pontiac information, services, and entertainment in the world! |
