Does anyone know what is needed to put a 1969 Pontiac 400 into a 1962 GP? Will the existing wiring work? Voltage regulator, alternator, etc.? Thanks. |

It depends, is the 1969 engine out of another B- Body car? If it is out of an F body you'll need some adapter plates.
The 1969 engine has a different mount for the starter, but if you keep the same transmission you won't have any problems with that.
Otherwise, everythinhg will work. Use the accessories off of your old engine, generator/alternator, power steering, pullies, regulator. |

The motor came out of a Catalina, I believe. I am going to hook it up to a TH400. Do you know if I will have any problems there? Thanks. |

You will probably have to modify your floor pan to have enough clearance for the THM 400. |

Yea, I already found that out. I had to open the bump up about 1 1/2" in side the car, weld a patch panel in place, and grind it smooth. You can't even tell now. I just wonder how many other modifications I will stumble across until it's finished!

You'll have to engineer a shift linkage and move your transmission cross member. Both of these modifications should be pretty easy.
You will probably also have to get your drive shaft altered a bit. Any competent drive shaft shop can do this for you. |

B bodies would include the Catalinas, Bonnevilles, all full size Grand Prixs.
Yes, the engine code would tell us. If you can post it we can look it up for you. |

As Bruce says, you will have no problems with this engine.
Please keep us posted on your progress. |
