Just stumbled across a nice car in the shop at an old customers. It is dark blue with light blue interior '74 HO T/A with automatic trans. Mostly original having perhaps one repaint some time ago. It runs and drives, and is said to be numbers matching. Plus, factory A/C with some new parts installed, and others there to be installed.
Believed to have been built in California and spending its early years in Louisiana, then to Florida. This is not a trashed T/A from some young kids. It is solid and mostly complete. A couple of pieces are off, but all available. There are a couple of small body issues, but no rust-out that I could see below and the underside is said to be solid. The interior is complete and original with some splits seams, etc.
Engine is "3/4 race" with roller rockers and mild cam, plus a Holley aluminum intake. The shaker items are gone under the hood, but the scoop is on the car.
The rear is thought to be in the 3:70 to 4:10 range, but the original gears are there too.
This could be the car you have been lookin for as a SOLID, nearly complete car to build a $25K car out of. Of course you should check it our completely, but the seller is an honest man I have known for years.
Contact me (Larry Kummer) and I will put you directly in touch with him by responding to this ad, or call 941-792-6279. I should have some photos soon also. The asking price is $6,000 but probably can be negotiated.

Hi Larry,
I will wait until you post pictures of the car. I have two possible people that might be interested in the car. I am included. Wonder how far of a pull it is from Sullivan, MO?
I will get a list of questions together to ask the guy. If it sounds good, I might ask if you can be the eyes for any further details.
Got a soft spot for the '74 T/A. Don't really need another one (already have two - the Super Duty and the racecar), but it could be another project car. It would be better driving this car on the street as opposed to the SD car.
I have a guy I work with at Alberici that is wanting a project car too. He built a strong 400 Pontiac engine, but it has no home. Might have to talk him in to using the 455 if it is a good engine.
Thank you Larry. |

Sorry to be so long with photos. The guy with this car isn't too swift with getting photos, or getting then off his camera to me. I will shoot over and get some photos tomorrow if I can sneak out. |

Well I snuck out and snagged a couple photos.... wouldn't you know it, I left new batteries at home. Oh, well, here are a couple to give a good idea of the car's condition. I can go back and get more for anyone interested.
There is a rack with most all the taken-off parts (new spoilers, the console, etc.). |

What is a 455HO car in 74?? The only engines for the 74's were the std. 455 the 400 & then the SD, but there was not an HO engine in 74. The 455 so called HO in 75 was only the regular passenger car engine in it but they called it an HO to help in sales. _________________ I have a 73 GTO that I bought new, well it was a demo because the car I ordered was an SD car which never came in & i had to take what was left because I was in the Navy & had to talk to the dealer when I could. |
